INDIANAPOLIS — A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot at a downtown Indianapolis hotel Saturday morning, authorities said.
Authorities later arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the shooting, WTHR reported.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Karla Vasquez, 16, was found shortly after 1 a.m. with gunshot wounds to her body in a 20th-floor room at the JW Marriott Hotel, WXIN reported.

Medical personnel were called to the scene and pronounced Vazquez dead, the television station reported.
Police said Vasquez was a guest at the hotel, and there were several people inside the hotel room when the shooting occurred, WXIN reported. Authorities said the individuals involved all knew one another.
The 17-year-old boy faces preliminary charges of reckless homicide, the Indianapolis Star reported.
According to WTHR, the Marion County Prosecutors Office will review the case and determine a final charging decision.
