Helmet Huber, a television producer and the husband of “All My Children” actress Susan Lucci, died Monday. He was 84.
Huber died Monday on Long Island, New York, People reported. He married Lucci, 75, in September 1969, according to the website.
Huber was born in Austria on Oct. 10, 1937. He met his future wife in 1965 when they worked at a Long Island restaurant, Us Weekly reported. Huber was a chef and Lucci was a waitress, the magazine reported. Huber later became Lucci’s manager.
Huber became a U.S. citizen in January 1994, People reported. He later became CEO of Pine Valley Productions.
“A family man, he was a loyal friend, and loved them deeply,” a representative for the family wrote in a statement. “With a roaring sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, and a practical problem-solver, he lived his life to the fullest. Mr. Huber, who formerly raced motorcycles in Austria, was a first-rate skier, and (an) avid golfer, belonging to the Garden City Golf Club and Westhampton Country Club.”

Huber was the producer of the 1995 television movie “Seduced and Betrayed,” 1998′s “Blood On Her Hands” and the 2009 documentary, “The Count and the Comrade,” according to IMDb.com.
“Helmut’s passing is a tremendous loss for all who knew and loved him. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend,” Lucci’s publicist, Jessica Sciacchitano, said in a statement. “The family kindly asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
