YORK, Pa. — A Pennsylvania father is facing an attempted homicide charge as his 2-month-old son fights for his life at an area hospital, authorities said.
According to WGAL-TV and the Patriot-News, police arrested Daryl Carletto Brown, 22, of York, after the baby became unresponsive Monday. Doctors discovered that the boy had suffered a brain injury and torn spleen, as well as bruised and fractured ribs, the news outlets reported. The child is now on life support at a Hershey hospital, officials said.
Brown later told investigators that the infant “wouldn’t shut up,” so he bounced the boy on his knee “violently,” according to court documents.
Brown remains jailed without bond, authorities said.
