Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff is in Jackson County today: he will get a look at the SK Battery facility in Commerce, a plant that will employ hundreds of workers to manufacture batteries for electric cars.

This week, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff will crisscross Georgia, outlining his efforts to make Georgia a national leader in clean energy and to secure big, bold investments in Georgia’s infrastructure and transit.
Sen. Ossoff will evaluate two of Georgia’s booming clean energy plants in North Georgia; inspect ongoing efforts to deepen the Port of Savannah; brief leaders in Valdosta on efforts to expand transit options and inspect Valdosta’s new microtransit program; and brief leaders and students at the AUC Consortium in Atlanta on major investments Sen. Ossoff has secured for Georgia’s HBCUs.
Sen. Ossoff will also host a student roundtable discussion at Savannah State University, the oldest public Historically Black College and University in the state, to take questions from students and staff on his work in the Senate, and he will also meet for a full day with the leadership at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.
