Woman pleads guilty in Franklin Co murder

Kristen Odister pleads guilty to a murder charge: Odister is one of two people accused in the murder of Franklin County businessman Sam Harbin, who was shot and killed in August of 2016, gunned down during a robbery at his home in Lavonia. Odister gets life in prison. Alleged accomplice Rashan Craft is awaiting trial on charges that include murder and home invasion.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for suspects in a string of automobile break-ins in western Jackson County. About a dozen cars were hit at homes off Highway 124; in one case, a gun was reported stolen.

There are now charges for a Dawson County man stemming from a car crash that injured three people: Michael Land is 38 years old, from Dawsonville. The Georgia State Patrol says he was DUI when he wrecked his car on Georgia Highway 136. The children—four, five, and six years old--were passengers in his car. Injuries are described as non life-threatening.
