A Monroe woman is jailed on charges she embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from her Gwinnett County employer.
Police say 58-year-old Melissa Dowd was able to create phony invoices and pay herself with them. She also doubled her own paycheck using the payroll software.
Dowd also used the software to change her W-2s so she could avoid paying taxes on the extra money.
The Gwinnett County Police Department says Dowd is charged with computer theft, forgery, and more.
