The University of Georgia diving team kicks off the 2024 portion of its season with the Tennessee Diving Invitational, running Wednesday, Jan. 3 through Friday, Jan. 5 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The meet begins Wednesday with the women’s 3-meter, men’s 1-meter, and men’s team events, followed Thursday with the women’s platform, men’s 3-meter, and women’s team. The action closes Friday with the women’s 1-meter and men’s platform events. Along with hosting Tennessee, Georgia will be joined by SEC rivals Auburn, Florida, LSU, and South Carolina, as well as NC State, SMU and Virginia Tech.

All three days of competition will stream live on SEC Network+ with live results available on DiveMeets.com. Each session will begin daily at 11:15 a.m.

The Bulldogs will look to continue the momentum from an outstanding fall season that saw six divers qualify for Zones. Senior Meghan Wenzel has posted a terrific senior campaign, finishing second on 3-meter and platform and third on 1-meter at November’s Georgia Fall Invitational, including a new PB on 3-meter. The Hatfield, Pennsylvania native earned four wins in dual competition and was named SEC Women’s Diver of the Week in October.

Sophomore Hannah Stumpf also impressed in early season action, qualifying for Zones on both springboards, including a new personal-best mark on 3-meter at Florida. Freshman Michelle Cummo will look to add her name to the Zones list following a season-best mark on 1-meter at the UGA Invitational.

On the men’s side, freshman Matthew Bray has made an immediate impact, reaching Zones in all three events, a feat matched by junior teammate Allen Mann. Bray finished third on 1-meter at the Invite, while also earning a dual win against NC State and Duke. Mann finished sixth on platform at the Invite, with fellow junior Rhett Hopkins reached the finals on both springboards. Junior Nolan Lewis will look to continue his momentum following season-best scores in all three events in November.
