While economists went into 2023 expecting a recession, it never materialized thanks to strong consumer spending and measured interest-rate hikes.

Experts from the UGA Selig Center for Economic Growth are ready with the details Georgians need to know about next year’s “soft landing” and how it will impact industries from real estate to logistics to retail.

The UGA Selig Center for Economic Growth provides Georgia-specific economic data, allowing leaders to understand what national trends mean for residents of Atlanta, Albany, and all points in between. Get a head start on the stories shaping Georgia’s economy in 2024 by attending the Georgia Economic Outlook.

Registration is free for the press at all Georgia Economic Outlook events, but space is limited. Please RSVP Merritt Melancon at jmerritt@uga.edu or Shannon Baker at dawg94@uga.edu. Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch starts at noon, with the program at 12:30 p.m.

The 2024 Georgia Economic Outlook report, which debuts at the Dec. 11 luncheon, is a 30-page analysis of the economic trends in each of Georgia’s metropolitan areas.

The Selig Center for Economic Growth at the Terry College of Business provides the forecast data and analysis. For more information and to register for the Georgia Economic Outlook, visit www.terry.uga.edu/eo.
