UGA Engineering School honors retiring professor

The University of Georgia and its College of Engineering honor a retiring researcher: Bill Tollner is calling it a career after more than 40 years at UGA. A retirement celebration for Dr. Tollner takes place today in the University’s Driftmier Engineering Center.

The University of Georgia College of Engineering will host a celebration of the distinguished career of Dr. Ernest “Bill” Tollner April 1 at the Driftmier Engineering Center. Dr. Tollner is retiring after more than 40 years of commitment to research, teaching and service at the UGA.

Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Tollner was among the first few scientists to identify the importance of advanced imaging and sensing in agricultural systems. In addition, he’s generously supported UGA through the Advancing Georgia’s Leaders Fund in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the Dire Needs Project Fund in the College of Engineering.
