Today is deadline day for absentee ballot requests in Athens

There is a reminder from the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections. Today is the last day to request an absentee ballot for the elections that will be held on May 21 in Athens and around the state.

We are winding down the second week of early voting in Athens, with Saturday advance voting at the Elections Office on Washington Street and from 9 til 5 tomorrow at the Library on Baxter Street, the Miriam Moore Community Center on McKinley Drive, the Cooperative Extension Service off on Cleveland Road in Bogart, the Tennis Center on Lexington Road, and at the Cultural Center in Winterville.
