Teen charged in Jackson Co crash; judge killed in Atlanta wreck

There are now charges for a 17 year-old student at East Jackson Comprehensive High School: the teenager is accused of failure to yield right of way after last Friday's crash on Highway 441 in Jackson County. Four people were injured in the multi-vehicle pile-up at Hoods Mill Road. Three of them were hospitalized in Athens; a fourth in Braselton. The Georgia State Patrol says injuries to all four were considered non life-threatening.

Harris Hines, the recently retired Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, was killed in a Sunday car crash: the 75 year-old Hines died after being taken to Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
