Swan launches campaign for Congress

Second campaign for 10th District seat

He ran unsuccessfully for the 10th District Congressional seat in 2014; now retired Marine Colonel Mitchell Swan says he will run again. Swan joins a crowded field of candidates looking to replace Republican Jody Hice, who is leaving the House to wage a primary challenge to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Swan kicked off his campaign at last night’s meeting of the Oconee County Republican Party.

From the Mitchell Swann campaign...

A conservative, “Full Bird” Marine Colonel who built a career on leadership, diplomacy, and problem-solving, Swan brings a perspective of intellect and solutions-focused conservatism to a race full of candidates offering little more than talk.

“We are in a battle to restore the American spirit; the values that built and sustained this country. We need leaders to fight for us in Congress - because our identity as Americans is shifting under our feet thanks to politicians that no longer cherish the traditional ideals we love—individual liberty, justice, and self-governance,” said Swan. “If we are going to remain a Christian nation, a capitalist nation, and a secure nation with effective borders, we’ve got to stand and defend these principles.”

Not just a warrior in the Marines, Swan is a warrior for Christ and a man of faith. Colonel Swan believes Georgians need conservative warriors in Congress who fight for America and bolster our shared Christian beliefs. He said his campaign will highlight the issues of border security, economic growth, and education policies that reject social and political correctness.

Col. Swan has solved large, complex, multinational problems at the highest levels, with a career spanning multiple Presidential administrations.
