The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is searching for spray painting vandalism suspects. Sheriff’s investigators in Madison say they have had about 30 reported incidents in and around Rutledge, some dating back to last October.
From the Ga News Network…
Graffiti incidents around Rutledge have risen sharply over the last five months, leading the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office to step up efforts to find those vandalizing government property.
The spray-painted phrase “ROT23″ began appearing in October on cement road dividers, utility stations, and park structures.
Lieutenant Joseph Pritchett tells the Morgan County Citizen since then about 30 incidents of vandalism have been discovered within a two-mile radius of Downtown Rutledge and two outside of Rutledge.
While investigators do not believe the graffiti is connected to gang activity, if the person or people responsible are caught causing more than $15 hundred dollars in damages, they could face felony charges.
Anyone with any information about this case should call the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office tip line.
