10th District Congressman Mike Collins will honor a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy who was shot and killed in 2021: Deputy Lena Marshall was responding to a domestic disturbance call when she was gunned down. Congressman Collins will lay a flag in her memory during a National Police Officers Week ceremony at the US Capitol.

From the office of US Rep Mike Collins…

This week, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) will honor Jackson County Deputy Lena Marshall at a prayer vigil and flag laying ceremony hosted by Speaker Mike Johnson as part of National Police Week.

Deputy Lena Marshall was shot in the line of duty on November 5, 2021, in Hoschton, Georgia, while responding to a domestic disturbance call. She succumbed to her gunshot wounds at a local hospital three days later.

“Our nation’s law enforcement officers courageously risk their lives every time they don their uniforms,” said Rep. Mike Collins. “It is my distinct privilege to lay an American flag in honor of Deputy Marshall, who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Georgia communities.”
