Heavy storms moved through western Georgia overnight and metro Atlanta took a hit as well with heavy rain and gusty winds, which led to a Tornado Watch in much of North Georgia through most of the early morning, but now that is expired, but there are plenty of tree limbs down and some power outages.

It is all moved east and north.

There was a possible tornado that struck in the southern portion of Fayette County in the city of Woolsey overnight.

That same weather system moved from the southwest and caused heavy damage in parts of Texas and Mississippi. At least two people were killed near Houston and six more were hurt.

Georgia Power said there were as many as 21,000 customers without power in metro Atlanta due to the storms. Another 8,000 from other providers were also in the dark as of Sunday morning.
