The Georgia Chamber Foundation, the state’s most influential economic research organization, announced the release of its Third Quarter Economic Report at the Rural Prosperity Summit in Athens, GA.
The report contains a collection of data on the status of the rural Georgia economy and projections for the growth of the state’s 122 rural counties.
“The Georgia Chamber Foundation’s Quarterly Economic Reports provide business and community leaders with key statistics and projections that drive growth and development throughout the state,” said Daniela Perry, Vice President of the Georgia Chamber Foundation. “With 77% of recent economic investment announced in rural Georgia, we are excited to share a report that highlights this unprecedented growth and reveals areas of improvement that will ensure continued prosperity in the Peach State’s rural communities.”
In 2017, the Georgia Chamber opened its Center for Rural Prosperity in Tifton, GA which promotes the success of rural efforts and develops partnerships to improve rural talent development, healthcare, infrastructure, and education.
The Director of the Chamber’s Center for Rural Prosperity, Tiffany Holmes, said, “We have made great progress in bringing economic opportunity to some of our state’s most vulnerable communities. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia General Assembly to build upon those achievements and provide our rural counties with the resources they need to be successful.”
