A ribbon cutting is set for this morning at Athens Technical College. It’s the ceremonial opening of the new Industrial Systems Technology Building. It’s a 43 thousand square foot facility. Ceremonies start at 10 o’clock at Athens Tech.

Athens Technical College faculty, staff and community partners will gather to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new 43,000-sq. foot Industrial Systems Technology Building on campus Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. The ceremony and building tour is open to the public.
Construction for the building is by Carroll Daniel Construction of Gainesville, Georgia, and the architect is Jericho Design Group out of Cumming, Georgia. Other sub-contractors include Conway and Owen Structural Design, Shear Structural, and Breedlove Land Planning.
The new space located at Highway 29 N. and Calhoun Drive will provide additional classrooms and instructional laboratories for air conditioning technology, industrial systems technology and mechatronics programs. It will also be home to economic development programs, which deliver customized business and short-term workforce readiness classes.
