Michael Ransom says he will run for another term on the Oconee County Board of Education, and Ransom says he will run this time to be the Chair of the School Board in Watkinsville. The current Oconee County BOE Chair, Kim Argo, says she will not be a candidate for reelection.

I am excited to announce my intention to run for Post 1 (Chair) on the Board of Education in the upcoming election. With a passion for education and a commitment to Oconee County Schools, I am eager to continue contributing to the positive development of our educational system.
As a dedicated member of this community, I believe in fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation. Through collaborative efforts, I aim to ensure that every student in our district receives a quality education that prepares them for future success.
I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving and making a positive impact on the educational experience of students and families in Oconee County.
