Athens-Clarke County Police say there is a $1,000 reward from the local Crime Stoppers group: police were, at last report, still trying to track down a burglary suspect. The man broke into a restaurant in the 900 block of Hawthorne Avenue and made off with an unspecified amount of cash. Restaurant surveillance photos show a slender male whose race and age cannot be determined.

At approximately 4:45am on September 3rd, ACCPD was dispatched to a Burglary that occurred at a fast food restaurant at 999 Hawthorne Avenue. Upon arrival, ACCPD met with an employee who, upon arrival for work, noticed a broken window in the back of the business. Further evidence indicates that at approximately 2:00am a suspect broke the window, entered the business, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The male suspect had a slim build, wore black clothing, and wrapped his head with a shirt to conceal his identity.

An Elbert County woman is free on $20,000 bond: Sydney Childs is 24 years old, from Elberton. She was booked into the Elbert County jail on methamphetamine trafficking charges.
The Georgia State Patrol says a 51 year-old Gainesville man killed in a crash in Hall County was not wearing his seat belt when he wrecked his car: Jose Ramirez died in the single-vehicle accident on Athens Highway in Hall County.
A Habersham County man gets a 20-year federal prison sentence, his punishment for his conviction on federal drug trafficking charges: Christopher Kenney was in 2017, caught by Habersham County Sheriff's deputies with methamphetamine and marijuana, also with firearms and about $4,000 in cash.
A longtime metro Atlanta pastor was being held without bond late Tuesday following his arrest on child molestation charges. 80 year-old Benjamin Harter had served as pastor of Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church in Sandy Springs since 2014. Harter has led two churches and helped build dozens of others here and in the Philippines, where he and his wife built an orphanage. The Harters also adopted 19 children from the Asian country, according to his church biography, adding to their already large family. But last Friday, Harter was arrested at his Cumming-area home on one count of child molestation.
