Oglethorpe Co man sentenced, Barrow Co juveniles arrested

An Oglethorpe County man gets a 20-year prison sentence with no possibility of parole, his punishment for a crime spree from earlier this year: 43 year-old Edward Wessinger (pictured above) entered guilty pleas to charges stemming from a string of February incidents that included assault, armed robbery, and shoplifting.

Five juveniles are arrested after allegedly robbing two teenagers in Barrow County: Police in Winder say the three boys and two girls used a gun in the hold-up that happened in a subdivision off Highway 211 in Winder.

Police in Gainesville are asking for help from the public in cracking a case that is getting colder: they are looking for information in a 2015 shooting in which a Gainesville man was killed. There is a $2,000 reward for information about the death of Phillip Smith, whose body was found outside an apartment complex in Gainesville.

A 43 year-old Buford man is facing charges in Hall County: Carl Howard is looking at counts that include public indecency after allegedly exposing himself to people in Flowery Branch and in Gwinnett County.
