Oconee Co High School names new principal

Oconee County High School is getting new principal: Kevin Yancey has been an assistant principal at the school in Watkinsville since 2015. His promotion is effective June 1. Yancey takes over for interim principal Dallas LeDuff, who has held the job since Ben Wiggins left Oconee County last fall to become the school superintendent in Thomasville.

“Kevin Yancey is an outstanding leader and educator who has played a vital role in the success of Oconee County High School,” said Superintendent Jason L. Branch. “He is committed to both sustained excellence and continuous improvement and I am confident he will provide strong leadership to the Warrior community.”

“I could not be more excited and humbled to transition into the role of principal at Oconee County High School,” said Yancey. “OCHS is a fantastic place to call home, and I am honored to have the privilege to carry on our rich tradition of continuous improvement. I look forward to continuing our standard of excellence with the incredible faculty, staff, students, and parents of our school community. It is certainly a great day to be a Warrior!”
