Oconee Co teachers get funding for STEM work

Three teachers in the Oconee County School District will receive $500 from Georgia Youth Science and Technology Centers: the grants go to Merci Johnson at Rocky Branch Elementary, Ami Rivera of Dove Creek Elementary, and Rachel Carter at Oconee County Elementary School. The educators are being recognized for their work as Don Cargil STEM Scholars.

Three teachers in the Oconee County school district have been recognized as 2024 Don Cargil STEM Scholars. Merci Johnson of Rocky Branch Elementary, Ami Rivera of Dove Creek Elementary, and Rachel Carter of Oconee County Elementary will receive $500 from Georgia Youth Science & Technology Centers to further outfit their classrooms in science, technology, engineering, and math.
