They have set a new date for the opening of the new Oconee County Library: grand opening ceremonies are set for one week from Saturday. That’s March 2 in the new library in Wire Park in Watkinsville. An opening that was originally scheduled for January was pushed back because of construction delays.

Grand Opening- Oconee County Library is set for March the 2nd at our new location in Wire Park! We have a great lineup of fun activities including Rebecca Sunshine performing her fabulous children’s music.
The Amazing Ziggy of Z Entertainment will be performing one of his comedy magic shows, Tonalli Danza Folklórica Mexicana will be demonstrating Mexican Folk Dance, and Nightshade Family will be playing a special afterhours all ages glowstick dance party.
Scoops Watkinsville has donated rock candy to giveaway for grand opening, and there will be a scavenger hunt for a chance to win prizes ($400 Grand Prize).
