NOTICE OF APPOINTMENTS
The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the following:
Community Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, & Addictive Diseases Community Service Board: One appointment to begin March 1, 2024 for a three-year term that will expire February 28, 2027. This board is the governing body of the Advantage Behavioral Health Systems and is responsible for delivering publicly funded mental health, developmental disability, and addictive diseases services in ten northeast Georgia counties. Meetings held every two months (January, March, May, July, September, November) on the fourth Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Advantage Behavioral Health Systems office located at 250 Bray Street, Athens.
Oconee County Board of Tax Assessors: One appointment to begin April 1, 2024 for a six-year term that will expire March 31, 2030. Members address the complex issues of tax appraising and valuation. Qualified applicants must have prior appraisal-related experience and willing to attend training. Meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday at 9:00 am at the Oconee County Courthouse, 7635 Macon Highway, Watkinsville.
