North Oconee senior to spend week in Washington

A senior at North Oconee County High School is chosen as one of Georgia’s two state delegates to the 62nd annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week. Viveka Mehrotra will travel to Washington in March of next year. The event is co-sponsored by the US Senate and the Hearst Foundation.

Viveka Mehrotra, a senior at North Oconee County High School, has been chosen as one of the two state delegates for the 62nd annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week.

The event, which is sponsored by the United States Senators and The Hearst Foundations, will take place March 2-9, 2024.

Mehrotra serves as the co-president of the student-initiated and student-led Young Democrats chapter. She is a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Board and is vice president of the National Honor Society.
