There is a new radio technology that will allow for better law enforcement radio coverage in Wilkes County: Jerry Hackney in the Sheriff’s Office in Washington says it will help in more rural parts of the county where coverage is sometimes sporadic.
From the Georgia News Network…
Law enforcement in Wilkes County now has new technology to help them better communicate with each other. It’s called Tango Tango. Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office Chief Training Officer Jerry Hackney tells WFXG Fox 54 there are several dead zones where police radios don’t work, but the new tech helps with that.
Hackney says Tango Tango works by integrating the regular radio system into a smartphone app.
Tango Tango Business Development Executive Ray Brown tells WFXG Fox 54 the better access to communication is an advantage.
Brown tells WFXG Fox 54 more departments across the country are looking to implement the technology.
