New midday lineup coming to WGAU

There is a new lineup coming to 98.7FM & AM 1340 WGAU with a focus on local programming that will premiere on Monday, April 12, 2021. Erick Erickson is assuming the noon to 3 p.m. time slot previously occupied by Rush Limbaugh who lost his battle with cancer in February. Brian Kilmeade will step in to the 10am-noon spot previously occupied by Erickson.

“With these lineup changes, WGAU will better serve the Athens area with more local programming from noon-3pm. We’re also thrilled to welcome Brian Kilmeade back to the WGAU line up from 10am-noon,” said Dan Ricci, WGAU Director of Branding & Programming. “Erick Erickson and Brian Kilmeade are two incredible talents that will continue to bolster WGAU’s strong brand in Athens and beyond.”

Erickson, who is also a nationally syndicated columnist, has been the voice of the 10am-noon time slot on WGAU and has a self-syndicated morning radio show across the state of Georgia. He is consistently one of the most listened to local hosts in the country and has the ear of conservative leaders across the nation. In 2015, The Atlantic named him the most influential conservative in the United States.

“I would never have gotten into radio without encouragement from Rush Limbaugh who has been gracious over the years with a lot of great advice and guidance. It was an honor to fill in for him on his show, and it is overwhelming and humbling to move into the slot Rush occupied with such distinction for so long. I appreciate and intend to live up to the responsibility that comes with this time slot.”

Kilmeade is one of the Fox News Channel’s most recognizable personalities, and is a co-host of the popular FOX & Friends morning show. He delivers a unique brand of radio while engaging listeners with a wide-range of topics and issues, from the major political stories of the day, to culture, sports, movies, music and more…bringing them right into the true “newsroom of life.”

The new schedule will premiere on Monday, April 12, 2021.
