NE police blotter: child porn suspect faces new charges, deputy acquitted on animal cruelty charegs

Joshua Rivers was arrested last month, caught with what the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says were more than twelve hundred images of child pornography: now the Sheriff’s Office in Gainesville says he’s facing new charges. The 37 year-old man from Flowery Branch is accused of placing a hidden camera in a restroom.

31 year-old Dustin York is in the Hall County jail, facing charges that include kidnaping: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says he held a woman against her will for more than a week. She was found when deputies made a welfare check at a home in Hall County.

There are child molestation and rape charges for a man arrested in Hall County: Felipe Gomez is 23 years old, from Gainesville. Gainesville Police say allegations against Gomez involve an underage girl. He was booked into the Hall County jail.

We have this morning the name of the Clarkesville woman who was killed in a car crash in Habersham County: Shelby Stonecypher was 33 years old. The Georgia State Patrol says her car hit a tree off Historic Highway 441 in Habersham County. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the single-vehicle accident.

Not guilty is the verdict in Conyers, where Rockdale County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Tolbert has been acquitted on animal cruelty charges. Tolbert, who worked on the K9 unit in Conyers, was charged in the deaths of three of his personal dogs.
