NE Ga police blotter includes emergency landing at Athens-Ben Epps Airport

A plane flying from Florida to North Carolina circled Athens-Ben Epps Airport Sunday afternoon, eventually making an emergency landing after its landing gear failed to deploy. The two pilots and four passengers on the plane. “None of the passengers were injured,” says Athens-Clarke County Police Lieutenant Shaun Barnett.

An Elbert County man who was wanted for murder surrenders to sheriff’s deputies in Wilkes County: Tyrone Brittain is charged in the January shooting death of his girlfriend. Tamekia Flint was 29 years old, from Elberton.

Police in Gwinnett County are calling it an accident: an 8 year-old was shot and wounded by a 9 year-old in the parking lot of a restaurant in Snellville. Police say the gun belonged to a man who had gone inside to get food, leaving the gun in the car.
