A man and woman from South Carolina are in the Elbert County jail after their arrests on drug trafficking charges: the Sheriff’s Office in Elberton says more than four pounds of methamphetamine and fentanyl were found by a K9 deputy after a traffic stop in Elbert County. 52 year-old Jack Mauldin and 59 year-old Tiffani Sims were arrested. Both are from Greenwood South Carolina.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy clocked a driver doing 112 miles per hour on I-85: the driver was stopped and then arrested when marijuana and THC gummies were found in his car. The Sheriff’s Office in Carnesville says there are drug trafficking charges for the driver, a 26 year-old man from Staten Island New York.
One inmate is assaulted and another is charged in an attack that happened in the Hall County jail in Gainesville. 35 year-old Oscar Cordova is facing counts that include aggravated battery. Injuries to the inmate who was assaulted are described as minor.
An illegal migrant from Mexico is facing drug charges in Towns County: the Towns County Sheriff’s Office says 28 year-old Carlos Lopez was caught with methamphetamine after a traffic stop. He’s been turned over to federal agents.
