NE Ga police blotter: Hartwell drug suspects ID’d, Gainesville robbery suspects arrested

We have this morning the names of the two people arrested in this week’s drug raids in Hart County: the Sheriff’s Office in Hartwell says 25 year-old Bryson Jordan and 21 year-old Alilse Scott were caught with forty pounds of pot; also firearms and thousands of dollars in cash. They’re facing marijuana trafficking charges.

The Gainesville Police Department is reporting the arrests of five suspects in an armed robbery that happened at a New Year’s Eve party in Gainesville. Four men and one woman, ranging in age from 17 to 20, allegedly fired gunshots while stealing from people at the party.

There is a new police chief for North Georgia Technical College: Mark Fitzpatrick comes to the campus in Clarkesville from the Gwinnett County Police Department in Lawrenceville. He has also worked in the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

A suspect in a deadly shooting in Lilburn has surrendered to police in Gwinnett County. 19 year-old Miguel Rodriguez is charged in the death of 45 year-old Felipe Velasco.
