NE Ga police blotter: DUI charge in deadly crash, murder charge in teen death

There is a DUI charge for the 22 year-old driver who survived a two-vehicle collision in Madison County. Moo Thaw is also facing three counts of vehicular homicide. Three people were killed in the wreck that happened Tuesday at Paoli Junction near Comer. Thai Htoo and Saw Ah were both 19 years old; Gler Taw was 35.

Kidnaping suspect Joshua Dornellas is due in court in Carnesville, a bond hearing today for the 31 year-old South Carolina man accused of abducting his non-custodial son, then dousing him with gasoline and setting him on fire in a police chase through Franklin and Hart counties. The 3 year-old boy was, at last report, still in the burn unit of a hospital in Augusta.

Police in Gainesville say two people are dead in what appears to have been a murder-suicide: investigators say 60 year-old Zenaido Alejo shot 55 year-old Rosa Contreras before turning his gun on himself. Their bodies were found in a car in a neighborhood in Gainesville.

A Hall County teenager charged in a Gwinnett County homicide: 19 year-old Jaquez Sims faces counts that include felony murder in the April shooting death of 16 year-old Jaishawn Overstreet.

We have today the name of a Wednesday drowning victim: the Georgia Department of Natural Resources says the body of 73 year-old Matthew Mayo was found by Hall County Fire Rescue in about six feet of water at Lanier Point on Lake Lanier. He is believed to have fallen out of his boat while fishing.
