A man from Madison County is facing child sex charges: Tyler Croft is 24 years old, from Hull. He was one of a dozen people arrested in a GBI sting called Operation Golden Eagle, an undercover effort in which men traveled to Bartow County after using the internet to make arrangements for what they thought would be sex with a minor.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating a plane crash that claimed the life of a doctor from Commerce. Lionel Meadows was flying from South Bend Indiana to the Jackson County Airport in Jefferson when his plane went down in Polk County Tennessee, possibly the result of stormy weather. Dr. Meadows was the only person on board. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Investigators in the Hall County Sheriff’s Office now say Daniel Rawlins’ parents died of blunt force trauma: his 67 year-old father and his 66 year-old mother were found dead in the front yard of their home in Braselton last weekend. Their 39 year-old son has been arrested and charged in their murders.
