Oconee County is in the market for a new elections supervisor: Fran Leathers says she is resigning her post in Watkinsville to take a job with Dominion, the company that manufactures the voting machines used in elections in Georgia and in several other states.
It will cost close to a quarter million dollars: the Elbert Memorial Hospital Authority has approved a plan to replace two dozen beds in the hospital in Elberton. A company that wants to produce medical cannabis in Elberton is expecting to find out in March if its application for a state license has been approved. Silverleaf is looking to build in Elbert County, with a plan to hire 50 workers if the state and local permitting hurdles can be cleared.

The DOT says nighttime roadwork will make for lane closures on Highway 316 in Gwinnett County: crews are set to begin work this weekend on 316 in Lawrenceville, with lane closures between 7 at night and 5 in the morning, likely to continue until at least June.
