Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said the man walked into the mine located on Morrison Moore Parkway and stole about $100,000 worth of cellphones, money, jewelry and gold from employees at the business around 4:30 p.m.

They said the man was last seen near Cavender Creek Road, which is directly across from the mine. Deputies issued a “Be On The Lookout” alert to residents in the area.

Brianna Weaver said she and a co-worker were about to close up shop when a man dressed in black stormed through the front door.

“Came in and said, ‘This is a robbery,’ and we were standing at the other counter, and he made us come over here. Made the young man sit on the floor, and I had to fill his bag, and he had his gun the whole time,” Weaver said.

The robber ordered the employees to empty the shelves.

“It was nuggets ranging anywhere from $20 to $7,000,” Weaver said.

After filling his bag with gold and jewelry, he demanded the employees’ wallets and cellphones.

“He said, ‘any of you follow, my buddy is going to f-ing shoot you,’ things like that,” Waver said.
