On February 8th at around 8:00 PM, Madison County Deputy Gabriel Dalton, 31 years of age, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for Possession of Methamphetamines after a traffic stop by the Georgia State Patrol in Hull, Georgia. Dalton was off duty and in his personal vehicle at the time.

The arrest occurred after information was received by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, which was immediately turned over to the GBI for a fair and impartial investigation. Dalton was immediately terminated from employment by Sheriff Moore and booked into the Madison County Jail.

After a bond hearing, Dalton was released on an $8350.00 bond and the case turned over to the Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. There is no evidence at this time that there were any violations of Georgia law while Dalton was on duty with the Sheriff’s Office.
