Local government calendar includes Oconee BOE meeting, Tuesday voting

The Oconee County School Board meets this evening: a School Board work session is set for 6 o’clock at school district offices on School Street in Watkinsville.

This evening’s Jackson County Commission meeting is underway at 6 o’clock at the courthouse in Jefferson.  Madison County Commissioners meet at 6 at the Government Complex in Danielsville, and Oglethorpe County Commissioners gather at 6 at the Oglethorpe County courthouse in Lexington.

There is an afternoon meeting of the City Council in Elberton it is a session that starts at 5:30 at City Hall in Elberton.

Today is election eve in Athens and around the state: voters will finish elections that began with early voting, deciding a Clarke County School District sales tax referendum. Oconee and Madison counties will see transportation tax referendums on Tuesday ballots. There are also mayor and city council seats up for grabs when the polls open at 7 o’clock tomorrow morning.
