Local government calendar includes Oconee, Barrow Co Commission meetings

The Mall Redevelopment Committee—a panel comprised of Athens-Clarke County Commissioners and Clarke County School Board members—meets again this afternoon, 2 o’clock at the Snipes Water Resources Building on Barber Street in Athens. Athens-Clarke County Commissioners, who delayed two votes earlier this month, could vote next week on a measures that would clear the way for a massive facelift for the Mall property on Atlanta Highway, a multi-million dollar plan for a mix of retail, residential, and office space.

There is an afternoon meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Airport Authority, a 3 o’clock session in the flight center at Athens-Ben Epps Airport.

There is bicycle talk today in Athens, with a meeting of the Athens In Motion Commission set for 4 o’clock this afternoon. The committee that is looking to enhance bicycle and pedestrian traffic in Athens meets at the Government Building on Dougherty Street.

This evening’s Oconee County Commission meeting is set for 6 o’clock at the Oconee County courthouse in Watkinsville.

Barrow County Commissioners meet this evening: their session is underway at 6 o’clock at the Historic Courthouse in Winder.
