Local government calendar includes A-CC, Barrow Co Commission sessions

Today is a deadline day in Athens: this is the last day to register to vote in the elections that will take place next month in Athens and Winterville, with municipal elections and a Clerk of Courts contest to be decided on November 7. Early voting begins next Monday.

There is an afternoon meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections, a 4:30 session in the Government Building on Dougherty Street.

An Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission work session is set for this afternoon in Athens, underway at 5:30 at City Hall.

This evening’s Barrow County Commission meeting is set for 6 o’clock and takes place at the Historic Courthouse in Winder.
