Local briefs include spring break for students, meetings for Commissioners

There are no classes in the Clarke or Oconee County school districts this week: students and teachers are out for spring break. They’ll return to classrooms one week from today. The Clarke County School District is using this week’s spring break to set up the trailers that will be used as portable classrooms when Clarke Middle School renovations begin later this year.

This evening’s meeting of the Madison County Commission is set for 6 o’clock at the County Government Complex in Danielsville. Oglethorpe County Commissioners are meeting at 6 at the courthouse in Lexington.

Efforts to recall the Mayor and members of the City Council in Lula are up for discussion at this week’s meeting of the Hall County Board of Elections.

The Northeast Georgia History Center gets a $50 thousand donation from the Melvin and Victoria Ivester Foundation, money the museum says will go toward new education programming initiatives.
