It’s a top honor for a Jefferson-based utility provider: Jackson EMC is ranked highest in customer satisfaction among electric cooperatives in the last JD Power Survey.

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation has been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among electric cooperatives by the J.D. Power 2023 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.

The national J.D. Power study distinguishes Jackson EMC with the highest customer satisfaction scores in the cooperative segment. The study examines satisfaction across six factors: Power Quality and Reliability; Price; Billing and Payment; Communications; Corporate Citizenship; and Customer Care. Additionally, Jackson EMC achieved the highest score in the “Corporate Citizenship” segment.

Jackson EMC has been previously recognized by J.D. Power. The member-owned electric cooperative, headquartered in Jefferson, was honored in 2010 and 2011 for Highest Customer Satisfaction Among Midsize Utilities in the South.

J.D. Power is a global leader in consumer insights, advisory services and data and analytics established in 1968. The 2023 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from 104,801 online interviews conducted from January through November 2023 among residential customers of the 149 largest electric utility brands in the United States, which represent more than 105 million households. Jackson EMC received a score of 794 out of a possible 1,000 in the study. Overall satisfaction among electric utility residential customers declined 18 points to from a year ago, marking the third consecutive year of decreasing satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power 2023 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.
