Gwinnett police make arrest in more than four year old cold case homicide of Lawrenceville man

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County police make an arrest in a more than four year old cold homicide case of a Lawrenceville man.

50-year-old Carmen Hunt is charged in the July 2019 stabbing death of 61-year-old Ray Neal of Lawrenceville.

Investigators began to re-examine the case when a family member of the victim came forward with new information about a suspect.

She said she believed Hunt was the person who killed Neal.

Based on the new evidence, Hunt has now been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

She is already in jail for a stabbing she committed in 2022.
