Gwinnett County’s clear backpack program is in effect as school reopens

As students head back to class from winter break in Gwinnett County, many will by carrying clear backpacks. It is part of a pilot program aimed at increasing school safety

Gwinnett County has launched the clear backpack pilot program at 33 schools in the county.

The school is providing the clear bags.

The program aim should give an idea of how a clear backpack requirement might work across the district.

A decision on whether or not to expand the program next school year is expected by March 3.
