For those who love to bike, hike or just take a leisurely stroll, a new proposed trail would take from Athens all the way out to the Georgia coast.

The trail will begin with the Firefly trail in Athens, which, once connected, would create an adventure between northeast and coastal Georgia, ending at Tybee Island, WJCL-TV reports.

Mary Charles Howard, with the Georgia nonprofit Hi-Lo, told the TV station that she came up with the idea to bring more to underdeveloped areas.

“We would go through a lot of rural communities. A lot of these communities need investment. They may be drying up or de-populating, and we see this trail as a boost to economic development,” Charles Howard told WJCL.
