The Georgia Department of Transportation has set May 25 as the date for a town hall on DOT plans for the Highway 316 corridor. The session will take place at the Community Center in Bogart, with Transportation Department officials will be on hand to talk about the road that runs from Oconee County, through Barrow County, and into Gwinnett County.
From the Ga DOT website…
State Route 316 is a critical east-west transportation artery and one of Georgia’s fastest-growing corridors. The SR 316 Planning Study is examining this corridor, a 40-mile section from Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County to SR 10 in Oconee County. The study will result in recommended potential improvements to the corridor that could be implemented in addition to the ongoing SR 316 reconstruction projects.
The study team will complete a comprehensive Origin-Destination analysis, analyze existing and future traffic growth and land use data, conduct stakeholder and public outreach, and evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations. The study began in mid-2022 and will run through late 2023/early 2024.
