Elections Board considers extending hours of early voting in Athens

A special called meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections is set for 4:30 this afternoon: the Board will consider expanding the hours for early voting in Athens, which continues through November 4. We are today 13 days away from the November 8 election day.

The group that unsuccessfully challenged March 21 of next year as the date for a special election in Athens-Clarke County Commission District 2 is waiting for a ruling from the state Board of Elections: Chnayse Allen is president of Inner East Athens. She says there has been collusion among the Mayor and two Commissioners since the August resignation of former Commissioner Mariah Parker.
