An Elbert County native is the new head football coach at Georgia Southern University: Chad Lundsford was introduced in a Monday news conference in Statesboro. Lunsford, who had been an assistant on the Eagles team, had served as interim coach since the October firing of former Georgia Southern Coach Tyson Summers.
Previously, Lunsford spent four seasons at Auburn, where he served as the Tigers’ Director of Scouting and Director of Player Personnel. Before that, he was at Georgia Southern coaching the slotbacks from 2003-05.
