Elbert Co football coach resigns

Elbert County High School is in the market for a new head football coach: Brad Waggoner has stepped down after one season with the Blue Devils, who were 6-5 with a playoff appearance in Waggoner’s only season in Elberton.

In a press release, Waggoner said, “Over the past few months, my family and I have decided that it is time to pursue some possibilities closer to my wife’s family who is four hours away. I am very thankful for the opportunity Mr. Bell, Mr. Kouns and the entire Board of Education gave me and my family here. I want to thank all of the assistant coaches and volunteers that have worked extremely hard in helping these kids be successful on and off the field. Most importantly, I want to thank these players for all their hard work and dedication to this program and I know they will continue that into the fall.”
