Today marks the start of a week of early voting in Athens: voters in District 2 are deciding a Clarke County School Board runoff. Incumbent Claudia Butts and challenger Mary Bagby were the top voter getters in an election held on May 21. Former Clarke County School Board Kirrena Gallagher finished third.
The advance voting wraps up Friday, with the runoff settled on June 18, one week from tomorrow.
Senator Steve Gooch, the Lumpkin County Republican who serves as state Senate Majority Leader, joins the Center for Election Integrity in a news conference at the Capitol. They’ll talk about what they say are the concerns about problems with voter rolls in Georgia.
