Cowsert up for judge’s post

Bill Cowsert, the Athens Republican who serves as state Senate Majority Leader, is among the candidates to fill a vacancy on the Georgia Supreme Court. It’s an opening that was created when Supreme Court Justice Britt Grant was confirmed by the US Senate to a seat on the Atlanta-based 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
